Carrie explained that her husband-to-be, Brandt, is deaf. My wife and second photographer, Shelley studied a little ASL in college. Evan’s bar mitzvah 9/2/2023

I shot this Bar Mitzvah a couple of weeks ago. With this one, I chose a more edgy feel. I wanted to focus on the depth of the experience which is why I have these presented in Black and White. I feel it adds to the work in this case. On most occasions, I would consider myself a color Photographer, but in this case, I feel the images are more suited to Black and White. Being asked to be part of a mitzvah is such an honor. This was such a lovely family and I was humbled to shoot this milestone in his Jewish life!!
